Classes & Seminars

The JobLink Career Center offers seminars, classes and one-on-one help in these important areas:

  • Job search skills and techniques
  • Filling out job applications
  • Resume writing
  • Interviewing
  • Managing your money
  • Financial aid for training or school

Computer ResourcesJobLink Career Centers have:
  • JIS (Job Information System), a computer network that lists thousands of specific job openings in North Carolina.
  • Internet Access for job searches.
  • Reference Library with books, brochures, videos and CD-ROMs about jobs, training and the labor market.


 

Tools for Job Search

The JobLink Career Center has the equipment, programs and people to get you on your way to a rewarding career:

  • Computers for writing/printing resumes
  • Free use of fax machines and phones
  • Special programs such as:  Dislocated Worker, TAA (Trade Adjustment Assistance), NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement), Vocational Rehabilitation and Work First.
  • Community College Counselors

Many people don't know what they want to do for a job or don't realize what they do well.  At the JobLink Career Center, you can explore careers and be tested to see where your skills and interests lie.  If there's a job you think you would like to get, you can find out who is hiring, what the pay is, what skills are needed for the job and what training is available for that job.
